EBNER develops HICONSABER – Fully automated bell furnace system with HICON/H2® technology.

SABER Safe fast Automatic floor based Bell annealer charging and lifting Equipment Robot.

The implementation of the SABER fully automatic handling equipment significantly increases throughput, work safety and process reliability in EBNER bell furnace facilities and reduces maintenance and personnel costs. The system does not require a hall crane and can therefore also be used in lightweight halls. The new bell furnace concept also works economically with small batch sizes and low throughput rates and, thanks to its modular design, can be expanded with only slight effort to include additional annealing stations.

The new In-line PACC module for tailored tempering was developed by the R&D department at EBNER. This new technology allows you to easily and flexibly create soft zones in press hardened components. Here, the partial cooling of the blanks occurs directly in the furnace, whereby the blanks are heated up to the austenitizing temperature, as usual.

So, the partial cooling of the selected areas is performed in the last part of the furnace system. The temperature of the demanded soft zone is reduced by contact with cooling pins (Contact Cool). Thereafter, the blanks are shaped and pressed as usual in the press. Consequently, you need only water-cooled press tools for the TTP-process. The geometry of the soft areas can be easily adjusted and moved, using a cassette solution.

Advantages are obvious; a simple, robust system, no distortion of the components, flexible adaptable transition zones and the service costs for press dies are significantly reduced.
